Mozart’s Concertos for piano are often considered, along with his Operas, to be a kind of ultimate perfection in the composer’s work.
This playlist presents the complete set of Mozart’s keyboard Concertos, played on period instruments (harpsichord and fortepiano). It includes the “pasticcios” based on sonatas by other composers (K.107, K.37, K.39, K.40, K.41; the latter on the harpsichord), as well as the concertos for 2 and 3 pianofortes (K.242, K.365).
For this playlist, amazing harpsichordists and pianofortists were brought together: Andreas Staier, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Robert Levin, Malcolm Bilson, Ronald Brautigam, Alexei Lubimov, Pierre Hantaï. They play with the following orchestras: Freiburger Barockorchester, Academy of Ancient Music, The English Baroque Soloists, Concerto Köln, Haydn Sinfonietta Wien, Le Concert Français.
